Meet me in Saint Louie, Louie

Since we’re leaving at the end of the month, Laura and I have been spending the past few weeks doing all the things that we’ve been meaning to do in St. Louis since we got here. Last night, we went to Sonic Drive-In. This is, admittedly, not an attraction particular to St. Louis, but they don’t have them in the Bay Area, and I’ve been wanting to try it ever since I first saw one while driving through Texas last summer. I suspected that the experience and the food would not live up to the expectation, and I was right. I was especially amused by the limeade: “Made with real limes” apparently means “artificially-flavored citrus soda to which we toss in a few hunks of real lime to satisfy truth-in-advertising laws without actually adding any real lime juice.”

Today, we were going to the zoo or perhaps go biking again, or visit Six Flags or the Transportation Museum. All of which require only that it not rain. Of course, it is raining. Bah.

  1. Well, I think the shakes and slushes are the real attraction for Sonics around this area. (Not that they’re not an over-priced, over-hyped restaurant, but they’re not too bad).

  2. How I can express my feelings ,maybe I should tell you something about my life .
I am living in Beijing China,as a college student.I know a little about Stanford.I like computer,I like Linux. While I was in those days when SARS break out in Beijing ,I have try to download some linux disbutions from the american ftps for my old 486sx laptop.I install the slackware 2.1 .I found it can’t show the years after 2000.Thus I have to do the same boring work. Then got a 3.5 to run.So fun I found that I can get a modern operating system to instead MS-DOS 6.22.I also get the gcc devopling packages.
And now I get a new pc,I install the Redhat 8.0 in it.I am majoring in Physics, live not a intelligent and a successful college life.May be I just to talk to friends all voer the world, though we may never be able to meet in the real life.
I respect the peoples working for jobs like linux.
Thanks to your constribution to the people can’t afford MS.
